Re: How Long between Oil Changes?

I own the CTS and I also am amazed at the oil life and interval being suggested by the computer.

I'm planning on following the computer recommendation give or take 15% ....

Good thread....good question....

Its not a question of saving money but rather a well respected GM world class mechanice recommended to me that I follow the computer so thats what I'm going to do..

I just check the oil level periodically to make sure theres plenty of oil in the engine..

For what it's worth. My vehicle with low miles per year (around 7,500 miles) get an annual Mobile 1 oil change wether they need it or not. Never had an engine problem. To me it seems like a cheap insurance policy.

It makes sense and it is also the requirement in the owners manual. Minimum oil change and filter replacement are required either by the oil life monitor or at one year.

Apparently the CadillicOwners.com posting rules do not allow forum members to read their owners manual. Shame on you, C&C.

Re: How Long between Oil Changes?

Jeez, what was I thinking.

(I won't tell anyone, then, that I actually bought the Service Manual too.)

Sorry, I misspoke a bit. I have an '06 STS and was answering a generic oil question. I get my service manuals from Helms; I checked and the new CTS manual has not been released yet but you can get on a list by visiting www.helminc.com and follow the links. The last couple service manuals that I purchased were $135.
