Re: Trying to get a Cts

Go to the Cadillac website to the dealer locator. Try the MD and VA suburbs of Wash dc/Balto. (type in zip code 20879 and then withing 50-100 milew) There are a number of Lt. Platinums listed, i saw at least 6 or 7 and some fully loaded crystal reds. Len Stoler in MD had a fully loaded crystal red w/bluetooth listed. They were a gret dealer to buy from when I got mine in March.

Re: Trying to get a Cts

Bottom line............................ Where has Cadillac been through all of this? Who would have imagined that so many, would stand in line to spend so much, and yet would get blown off by a car company that is allegedly eager to increase sales and reputations. Pretty poor service for a compant that wants to be world class.

Re: Trying to get a Cts

I received a phone call today from the dealer. Not what I was expecting but my car is in! I can't believe it! I will pick it up tomorrow.

Re: Trying to get a Cts

According to my dealer they stopped taking orders for 2008s a few weeks ago, so it's no surprise that your order was not fulfilled. Just yesterday he called me to say they can now place orders for 2009s ... unfortunately delivery won't be until August, even for a high-volume dealer and a GM employee (if that makes any difference). He also told me that whatever deal is in place when you place your order (e.g. 1.9%) you will have locked in, but even if a better deal comes along in the meantime you can switch to that. And also that MSRPs are not expected to change significantly for 2009s. So basically given the higher residuals of 2009s, you are not going to lose much money by ordering a 2009 at this time.

It's only TEMPORARY. Sometimes this happens, for whatever reason in production, that when a color is not going to be offered for the next year, it is "built out" before the end of the current model year.

Silver is back for '09 and the difference is indistinguishable, essentially, with the new Radiant Silver.

Should there be a better system in place so that there aren't orders placed that then can't or won't be filled properly? Yes. Should colors build out before the end of the model year? Again, yes, but it just works out this way sometimes.

It is an inconvenience but silver and specifically the Light Platinum is SUCH a common and frequently ordered color, there should be many matches already built and sitting (at least for a few days...) somewhere out there. Ideally, your dealers could find them AND the other dealers would be willing to swap, but if not, just take it for what it is and go to wherever they are to buy.

Re: Trying to get a Cts

I would check another source about "being locked into a deal". Usually you get the deal that is offered when you take delivery. I went through this when I bought my car. I signed the paper work before the car actually came in (it was on the transport) to save the deals being offered at the time. You don't need to actually pay but you need to sign all the paper work as if you are taking delivery at that time and you can't do that until the dealer gets the vin number, has the invoice, and knows the car is built and on the way.
