My guess is they are trying to set the foundatons for a series.... Here is my reasoning:
We all know that the V, coupe, wagon, and maybe convertible are in the works.
The reason for making certain options restricted is the same reason they changed the packages in mid 08.
They want to target base model customers, luxury customers, and performance customers with the same car.
They are trying to do much what BMW does so well, minimal changes to a vehicle while attracting the widest audience.
I hope they don't bring it here. Things are starting to look up for Caddy. I wouldn't want that P.O.P to ruin it. Top Gear on BBC2 tore that car apart.
well if i remember correctly they are planning on remodeling it and bringing it over here sometime in the future. but then they are also going to price the CTS higher to compete with the 5 Series and merge the DTS/STS to make a car that competes with the 7 Series.. it's all speculation, so who knows
We just test drove the CTS today, and spoke with the dealer about the changes for 2009. One change listed on the 2009 CTS product information sheet says: "(PDQ) CTS Premium Collection now includes (Y42) 18" All-Season Tire Performance Package." Does that mean that you cannot get the PDQ Premium Collection package without the 18" all-season tire package and FE2 suspension? I'm not sure I really want the 18" all-season tire package, as we plan to get an AWD CTS and are in the Chicago area. I believe the regular 17" all-season tires would be better.
Thanks for any advice.
Hey, my first day on the forum.
I am in the Chicago area as well, and have the same dilema. I want the paddle shifters, but do not want the 18s and tight sport suspension either. How badly will the tight suspension affect winter driving. I would be happy with 17 alloys and get a 20in set for the summer. My AWD Jag X-type is great in the snow and I would like the same out of a CTS4. I wanna trade the cat in for the CTS4. I think the base suspension would best for me.
Anyone here from the Corvetteforum, I've got over 9000 posts on there... looking forward to learning about the CTS here.
Today is my 1st day to post on the forum. However, I have been reading and gathering lots of cool info all summer. Thank you!! I am considering buying a CTS or Infiniti G.
While comparing prices of used 08s on Autotrader.com this evening, I came upon an entry from my local Cadillac dealer in Houston, Tom Peacock. They listed 09 CTS's in stock. Just to be sure, I called the saleslady I have been dealing with and to my amazement...she said they have them on the lot. 49k with all the bells and whistles. Even a new blue color...can't wait to see it!
