We just test drove the CTS today, and spoke with the dealer about the changes for 2009. One change listed on the 2009 CTS product information sheet says: "(PDQ) CTS Premium Collection now includes (Y42) 18" All-Season Tire Performance Package." Does that mean that you cannot get the PDQ Premium Collection package without the 18" all-season tire package and FE2 suspension? I'm not sure I really want the 18" all-season tire package, as we plan to get an AWD CTS and are in the Chicago area. I believe the regular 17" all-season tires would be better.
You can see black ice on a STS at your dealer or on a paint chip at your dealer. I thought I might go that route too, but did not like it as much as the pure black raven. Just my opinion ...
I agree. Why indeed would they drop the j55 brakes from the 2009 AWD. That seems like a step down in safety. Are they dropping totally, or just making an option instead of standard with the AWD.
My guess is they are trying to set the foundatons for a series.... Here is my reasoning:
We all know that the V, coupe, wagon, and maybe convertible are in the works.
The reason for making certain options restricted is the same reason they changed the packages in mid 08.
They want to target base model customers, luxury customers, and performance customers with the same car.
They are trying to do much what BMW does so well, minimal changes to a vehicle while attracting the widest audience.
Is there anyway to see "Black Ice" in comparison to the "Black Raven"?
I would like to order a 2009 in June or July, and don't know how to see the new color option. Thanks for any suggestions!
That color is also on the current Saturn Aura, the color is called "Carbon Flash" or something like that, and too dark for my tastes and looks like there is pollen or dust on the car becasue the metallic flakes are scattered infrequently (compared to regular blended metallic colors) and more or less on top of the color base layer, so you can see the actual flakes
The new Radiant Silver is not on any GM car, past or present, and will unfortuntaley be on a lot of 2009 GM cars right down to the Chevys, so dont expect it to be anything special or brilliant like Mercedes Silver, but we can always hope
So, does anyone know when Cadillac will actually post the difinitive, true changes to the ‘09 (non-V) versions of the CTS or have they oficially done this yet? I’ve got my eye on an ’08 but I want to know if I am going to be missing out on anything if I wait for the ’09.
I just received notice last Saturday that my 2009 has been built and should be here in about 2 weeks. Everything that I originally ordered on the 2008 is there except the polished aluminum wheels for the all season tires. My dealer said they are not available at the moment. His thinking is that they are changing suppliers. The sticker is very simple...not sure if it is what will be on the car, but it just shows PDQ Premium Collection at $10,100 MSRP and then lists all options as N/C. Hopefully they will carry the 0% interest into July. I'm sure it will be for all GM cars except CTS with all my luck!!! I'm anxious to go pick it up and drive it.
