Re: Why Are People Building Their CTS?

I need to weigh in on this. I have ordered 3 cars in my 40 year career of buying cars. All three were disasters. I won't bore you with the details, but trust me, the best movie writers in Hollywood couldn't come up with the crap I went thru. It just don't work for me. I can understand why people order cars and in theory, it sounds great, but it just don't work for me. I believe in destiny, my car was sitting there waiting for me to discover it. I got to review every detail, test drive, and check out the paint, and interior. I took my time and there was no pressure to follow thru on a previous committment. Once every thing was right, I pulled the trigger. You still need to be patient and give alot of consideration to what you will and won't accept. I would buy another brand before I would order a car. I've got over 3000 miles on my 08 CTS and it isn't a month old yet. It is perfect for me.....CJ

Re: Why Are People Building Their CTS?

I recently bought my CTS off the lot with all options. The dealer had 5-6 others also - didn't look like a shortage to me ! I have bought many cars off the lot (and ordered a few) over the past 30 years - most have been pretty reliable with no problems.

Yep, couldn't have said it better myself. Manual / FE3 is like kryptonite for Caddy dealers. They only anticipate one percent (approx. 300) manual cars to be sold, and most of them will be the VVT motor to save money. No one will risk stocking them, from my experience.

Is there some kind of cost advantage to ordering one? Or is there just a low supply in certain areas and they need to be built? Thank you.

my dealer told me that they only get a certain few...and the few that they had were not fully loaded or to my specific.............................specification s

i'm told by other salesguys that their managers don't even want them to go out and look for the car i want at other dealers for a 'trade'...
