| I too, performed Shift Knob Surgery!! I received my wood/ebony shift handle from Luke at Lindsay Cadillac yesterday (Thanks Luke). Last night I reviewed the great posts here regarding removing the knob, taking it apart, putting the knob back together with the right leather pieces from my stock all leather (cocoa) knob and then installing the knob. Whole process took maybe 1/2 hour with me taking all the time I needed and being very careful not to mess anything up. This gives me the wood/cocoa shift knob at the cheaper price of the wood/ebony knob.
One comment I must make is that the difference in color between ebony and cocoa is very little. I think that you could just put the wood/ebony shift knob on and no one would even notice.
Thanks again to those pioneers who share their knowledge with us so that we can all benefit!
