I hope that is the case, we need it here, in L.A.
Personally I wouldn't own a car without BT, but I do prefer OEM equipment.

I'm sorry you feel that way, because every dicussion has two sides. The fact that you want Bluetooth doesn't negate the fact that there are valid resons not to incorporate it. Perhaps GM's decision to wait until a better solution comes along explains why they have blown past Mercedes and BMW in customer satifaction on almost every major survey.

GM has done a fantastic job looking at their competition. Cadillac offers so many features not available AT ALL on competitors- to list a few:

-Dual depth and rate frontal airbags (industry first)
-Lazer brazing assembly process
-Advanced crash notification through OnStar
-Hand cut & sewn interior components
-Interior accent lighting
-40GB HDD with radio buffering (industry exclusive)
-and many others....

Bluetooth is just one of many features a car can have, and it happens to be one that you want. There's plenty of people out there (myself included) that would rather have the things I listed above, PLUS better styling AND a nicer interior for LESS MONEY than the competition.

I'm starting to sound like a commercial, so I'll chill out for a while now. It's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Re: Bluetooth?

Just wondering, what's advanced OnStar crash notification? Does it tell you when you're about to crash or something? How does that work?

Also, as for the interir accent lighting, I don't know if it's really something the competition doesn't offer. My cousin's 07 MDX has lighting in the foot area and over the shifter...oh wow, so Cadillac added it on the doors and above the glove compartment? That's totally not so much a step forward or a feature that should be really highlighted imo (even though I like it, don't get me wrong). But I'll be honest, between my two cousins who have Acuras (the other's got the 08 TL with similar interior 'accent lighting') they kind of laughed at me when I mentioned it as a feature and were like...come outside for a minute, we gotta show you something magical in our cars haha

aahhh, no.

They misgaged the demand for BT. I don't think you should sugar-coat it any. Besides, Im shopping for one in central florida so you have to be nice to me

Re: Bluetooth?

That's nice how the button is hidden behind the console door. Where is the microphone located? Did you have to cut into the radio wires or are you using an adapter plug in the wiring harness?

Re: Bluetooth?

I noticed he had to play with the volume alot when it switched back and forth between the radio and phone. I have a parrot system I installed in my Tahoe with a wire harness. It switches the radio over to the phone input during calling (assume it was used for OnStar) and since there are different volume settings for each input I don't have that issue.

the reason for that is, my camera was on the tripod behined my seat, and I just wanted to make sure that everything was recorded evently.
give me a break please. I was recording, talking and making adjustments at the same time.
PS
1.I posted other video for Escalade, with same set up, and if You watch it, you'll notice that I did not have that problem as much, because camera position was closer
2. there was no on star manipulations involved
3. yes parrot is a little bit more flexible. but I did not want Parrot controlers or displays to be taped on the dash

Re: Bluetooth?

BTW, I took the simple approach and, as a prospective customer, Emailed Cadillac regarding the lack of a suitable Bluetooth integration. Here is the reply:
" Bluetooth will not be available as a factory installed feature for the 2008 CTS. However, it will be featured as standard equipment on all 2009 model rear Cadillac vehicles. Also, Cadillac recently announced the availability of a factory-licensed Bluetooth hands-free cell phone system. The system, called BlueConnect, must be professionally installed by the dealership, as it is not a standard "clip-on" Bluetooth device. BlueConnect is compatible with most Bluetooth-capable phones. Further details about phone compatibility can be found on JCI's website, http://www.jciblueconnect.com. "

At least it's progress, especially for anyone that doesn't want to visit a 3rd-party installer.

Re: Bluetooth?

Any ideas when the 2009 models will be at dealerships?
