Darrell, Im surprised! You and I used to get in HUGE arguments along time ago about the imports. That was one of my first Cadillac Forums memories... Darrelld LOL!
Looks like youve got a nice catalogue of choices there, I hope you find one that suits you well.

Why do you still post to this forum? Nothing better to do with your time? May be time for you to drop the CTS forum and join a Lexus one. Apparently you are no longer a fan of the CTS or you may have opted to purchase another. I, along with many of the CTS owners have had little or no problems with our cars and still own them.
I belong to several Lexus forums, as well as Corvette Forums ( I have owned 94 and 99 Corvettes), and Cadillac forums. I was a member of most of those forums before I purchased the car, in order to gain information on whether it was what I wanted.
Auto forums are designed to exchange information on brands and models with others who are interested. If all you want to see are positive comments on the car you already own, then put on a pair of rose colored glasses and go to it.
I have experience with the Cadillac CTS, I plunked down my 40 grand and bought one. I lived with it for 6 months and found out more then I cared to about its short comings. I have owned many new cars over my life, and never before have I felt compelled to get rid of one after only six months. Sharing experiences with other potential CTS buyers is what these forums are all about.

I would prefer the term discussions to arguments and I am always open to change my mind based upon both my own experience and those of others.
you guys gets all worked up here about japanese vs us cars. Facts are that there will always be people that are not satisfied with their car for one reason or another, no matter if its the fattest mercedes or Lexus or cadillac.
I will agree with Lexus making rocksolid cars, no denying that, but jesus christ, they need to hire someone to draw the exterior, when i look at the LS430, I would never guess that car are so damn expensive, because the outside design are so common and non groundbreaking. Thats the no.1 reason why lexus dont gain any ground in europe, if you compare the LS430 to eg. BMW 6, no doubt the bmw kicks the lexus ass design wise. But the LS430 are amazing to drive.
Ohh yeah Darrel, if you need to pick one of those cars, I would go for the mustang that car is wicked!! wish Ford would start to seel that car here in europe.

The japanese were not always known for quality. I remember reading about the first Toyota brought to this country. The Toyota people were going to drive it coast to coast to drum up excitement and dealer support. The thing broke down so often that they had to give up and go back to Japan.
They learned from their mistakes though, and came back with a much higher quality product. GM has never learned that. Some of the problems with the CTS , such as the rear differential whine, have been ongoing now for three model years. I have to conclude that GM certainly could fix that defect if they wanted to, they are the largest car maker in the world after all, but they just don't care enough about quality to make the effort. That is so very sad.
Keep in mind that the rear differential is not made by GM, I believe it's made by Getrag, a German company....
