Well sometimes anger and hate are needed and lengthen life. Sometimes we DO have enemies and recognizing them and acting accordingly is the best Darwin strategy. |
Please allow me to modify and thereby qualify my statement, "Life is short enough as it is, misplaced anger and irrational hatred will only serve to shorten it "
Anger in the form of 'righteous indignation' can be useful in times such as personal, societal and national defense. Or in other words, 'don't even think about messing with my family or friends'.
Hatred, bitterness, prejudice, these are rarely useful or productive and have been known to cause brevity of life in a variety of distasteful ways.
Most people might agree that it is more pleasant to be around positive and caring individuals than angry surly ones.
Which would you rather? Pick a fight or enjoy a pleasant conversation?
