| Re: What tires are quietest on the CTS Hi Sammy. I've got the same issue. On our Nissan, I recently put on Michelins. The noise drop was dramatic. That seems to be constant from other cars I've had as well. If you are getting any wear pattern you probably are underinflating your tires. Yes, more inflation increased noise, but wear patterns on the edges means underinflation. You don't need to inflate to the maximum rated. I've had a couple of people I respect tell me that two-thirds to three quarters of the rated maximum is good for general use on virtually any car tire. Maximum without a load isn't good for the tires either, as it stretches the tire cords if left constantly at that high pressure. Good hunting for a satisfactory tire! |
