Black Bra or 3M clear protection

Remove this ad
I am very happy finding this forum site, what a great resource.

I have a 05 CTS black on black. I do a lot of highway driving in a winter climate and graveled roads. I want to protect the paint on the front of my car but I hate the look of a bra. I have heard of a 3M product that is clear and works very well to protect the bumper, head lights and hood. Does anyone have an opinion and experience with this product?

Re: Black Bra or 3M clear protection

Both look bad. But if looks are not a factor, get the bra.

Re: Black Bra or 3M clear protection

i have seen a few things that look kinda like cerain wrap and it covers most of the nose of the car and is completely clear and very hard to been seen unless your looking for it. i think laminx (i think thats how its spelled) makes a product like that and im shure if you look you will find more

Re: Black Bra or 3M clear protection

I have the 3-M Clear Bra on mine.
Love it.

It has saved the front end from BAD CHIPS countless times.
Also have it on the front of the mirrors.

Texas Jim

Re: Black Bra or 3M clear protection

Thank you for your opinions. I have found someone that does the 3M clear bra, very expensive but a lot less then repainting every couple of years. I really don’t want anything but I do believe the clear bra is the lesser of the two evils.

Re: Black Bra or 3M clear protection

I just received my car back after tinting the rear windows and putting the clear protection on the front bumper, hood, lights and mirrors. It looks great, i am very happy with the results of the 3M product. From 5 ft away you cannot see any difference, closer look you do see a very faint line on the hood but not as noticeable as I first thought it would be. My car is black so I thought that line would be very obvious and it is not. I will post pictures at a later date. I am a new owner of a black on black 05 CTS and I'm loving it!
