Price for sway bar installation???

Ok, well I've had my V sway bars for about 2 years now and still haven't got around to putting them on. I just called a few places to get a quote and they told me it would cost $200. Does this sound right or is it overpriced?

If they're charging you $100/hr for labor, maybe. If you were closer to me I'd do it for $50. I'd never pay $200 for the install. If you have a jack and a couple of tools do it yourself.

Jack up car, remove wheels, remove a couple bolts, slide bar out, slide new bar in, replace bolts, replace wheels, DONE!

yea its actually quite simple just look at how its put together and then disasemble it put new parts in and reasemble basically. mayb purchase a nice manual for the car also

Do I have to get an alignment after I put them on?

I though the V sway bar was a different size than the CTS bar. If that's the case, you may have to buy different bushing supports.

Anyone selling you stock V sways should have provided those bushings and brackets.

I paid my mechanic $75 for the installation. The job took about an hour. When you take off the stock sways you will really see the difference in both. The v-swas are so much fatter.

how much of a difference does this make? i have a 03 lux sport... whats the price on some aftermarket ones that are good?

Get Sways from a V, the bigger the bar the better the handling. Make sure you get the bushings and brackets though (they should be included) You don't need to get the alignment done when changing sway bars. I just switched mine out, and I think it was 15mm socket for the bolts? It was about as hard as an oil change (so not very) I think the hardest part about it was pulling the old bars out (due to the weird bends) It is very easy, and you will be able to do it yourself.
