05 Caddy CTS with the 2.8L

So, I'm sure you guys get this ALOT!! I'm sorry, but I'm asking for my dad. He's looking at buying Mom an '05 CTS with the 2.8L, auto, ect ect. Its an old lease car with 30,000 on the clock and the price is like $16,000 I think. Lemme hear the good, bad, and ugly about this car. I noticed they only made the 2.8L for 3 years, any problems with it? Thanks for all the input guys!

That price seems pretty good. What kind of options? If horsepower is of no concern to you its cool. I think the 2.8 has 220 hp as opposed to the 3.6's 255. If you look hard enough i think you can get a deal like that on a similar 3.6, as that engine was just a $1,000 option i believe.

Correction.... the 2.8 has 210 hp
the obsolete 3.2 had 220

The fuel economy is not that much better than the 3.6, so IMO it's not worth it.

The car itself is cheaper (fake leather, non power passenger seat... etc.). I'd go
a year older with a 3.6 with options.
