Re: Transmission Question

If you authorized them to go in and replace your rear end seal under warranty, then they would have gone in and replaced your seal (if that was the warranty work you had done). There would be no reason of going to all the trouble of setting up the Tech II to get the latest programming for all your modules and then going to the car and spend the next hour reprogramming all of them.

Now if you said you had a transmission problem and you authorized them to work on the transmission and they found the TSB and suspected that it might be module problem then they would have gone to all the trouble to get the programming and do the update. They wont just reprogram them just because....

Re: Transmission Question

Well what they did was replace the seal and some weather stripping, but they did a full vehicle inspections. Under transmission its in the yellow and says "May have problems in the future". That being said, Should I worry?

I would ask the service manager what that means (May have problems in the future), based on what?. I would want to know why he wrote that. Most cars on the road have not ever been updated, and it probably wont ever be an issue. Your transmission wont explode just because you did not get the latest update. If you have the problem as in the TSB, the update may correct it. If you dont have the problem, then dont worry about it

Re: Transmission Question

My only problem really is the 500RPM drop then back up which kinda jerks. And this Engine/Tranny update wouldnt fix this correct? Only if I'm getting the shuttering? What exactly does the shuttering feel like?

Re: Transmission Question

Hmm..I don't think I notice that. I just got off the phone with my Cadillac dealer and they said there is probably an update to fix the drop of RPMs. They said a Cold Air Intake MIGHT void the warranty. Which means I have to take the ****ing thing back off and put the stock one on. Oh joy.

Re: Transmission Question

BigDawgFoxx, any update yet? I'm still curious about that strange way the transmission works. I went at one dealer and they test drive it and saw the rpm dropping. They said that the transmission works with load, wheel rotations, brake pedal force etc. They say that its normal. I just want to make sure we have the same answer.

Re: Transmission Question
