| | | Re: Transmission Question To add to this, when I'm coasting at about 20mph the rpms are at about 1500 (I believe) and then just DROP to 1000 then quickly back up to 1500 (not positive if it is 1500, but they drop 500 rpms then back up quickly) and cause the car to kinda jolt...I'm still under factory warranty...I did put a CAI on the car though, would that void the warranty? I could just put the stock one back on. |

Bigdawg, I'm pretty sure your tranny is doing what mine is as well, I'm positive its an internal valving issue, but realistically its too intermittent and costly for the dealership to resolve. I really believe this is just one of those things that needs to reach complete failure before it can be resolved. |

| | | Re: Transmission Question The CAI will not affect the warranty. The only other thing I can suggest is to exaggerate the problem to the dealer and specify that you believe there's a mechanical issue with the valving. The only thing you have to lose is running the risk of having to pay about $350 for service (new filter, fluid, and time) if they can't find anything wrong. Best case scenario is that they do find something and its covered under warranty. |

| My 2005 CTS does this since it was new but there is no jerking etc. I think this is normal for the CTS drive by wire system. |

Recently though, my transmission has been acting a bit out of the ordinary. It seems when cruising around 50-55mph and I let my foot off of the accelerator, the RPM's jump up and down. Also, when going about the same speed, if I put my foot on the accelerator lightly, it seems the car shudders a bit.
Do anyone have any imput or suggestions? Like I said the car is certified, so I have no problem taking it back to the dealer, I would just like to hear if anyone else had/is having the same problems w/ their CTS.
Thanks | Have the dealer perform the computer module updates for the Engine Control Module and the Transmission Control Module. There is an updated flash for the transmission computer that is listed as #24239467 "to be used for concerns about engine misfire/surge at or above 62 mph. this will not correct low speed chuggle under light throttle" as well as 5+ updates for the ECM. This may clear up the problem |

| | | Re: Transmission Question I doubt it. If you went in for a battery and a recall, I imagine they just worked on the battery and the recall. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
