Taction Control Light is on

Hi Guys~

Ive got an 03 CTS and I was driving with it in the rain the other day when my traction control light all of a sudden came on. I couldnt manually turn it off or on so when I got home I used my F1&F6 key to find out that ive got a C1295 code on the ODBC Reader. When I clear it, the light turns off until i put it in drive and start going about 3-5 miles per hour. I noticed that it doesnt seem to do it when its in reverse or just sitting there in park. Any ideas?? Some kind of sensor or something perhaps?

It seems to me that somebody had this problem with a burned out tail lamp.

MMMMM So I should check the actual tail light bulbs? I would think that it wouldnt have anything to do with the TC but ill take a look at it.

I just checked out the tail lights, they seem to be OK. When I turn on the light in either full or parking mode, they all seem to be running, but when i press on the brake, still nothing.... any other ideas? I could really use the help.

Whrn you press on the brake, you should get the two upper bulbs in the rear to iluminate as well as the neon tail light in the center. Do all 3 come on?

The neon light (middle) one comes on, but the left and right side do not come on at all. They do come on when I turn on the full or parking lights. I checked the blubs and they appear to be fine from what i can tell.

Im wondering if the brake light switch itself has malfunctioned? I guess its attched to the brake pedal, correct? How could I get into there since its really tight underneath the dash?

If the middle light comes on, I think the switch is fine. the problem may be in the wiring. I would also invest in a new package of bulbs first. Sometimes you can't see the filement is burned out.

If not the bulb, find an electrical guy.
