Those who have Lindsay drilled and slotted Rotors

Remove this ad
Hey Guys, I had some Lindsay drilled and slotted rotors installed, using Hawk ceramic pads. I love the look of the rotors even had the clippers painted but I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Because I have 20" wheels I can see the whole rotor and there is a space of about half an inch at the bottom of the rotor, just before you hit the black painted part that my brake pad does not cover. This little half an inch space does not ware because the pad does not rub there and it gets all mucked up and rusted. Are my calippers just not on wright, should the pad cover the whole rotor? Anybody else with Lindsay rotors having this problem?? Thx

Yeah, I have the same thing. Its almost like the pads are too small and there is a ring of rust around the rotor. You can kind of see it in this picture. Let me know what you find out.

Re: Those who have Lindsay drilled and slotted Rotors

Same problem here. And my brakes squeal a bit too which is rather annoying. Took them to the brake shop and they said everything is fine...

Yup, blaausl10. That is exact same wheel and setup I have. Thats the problem im talking about. I wonder if a coat of high heat paint would take care of that, since it dosent seem to rub there???

Re: Those who have Lindsay drilled and slotted Rotors

I got my rotors from www.rotorpros.com and they are basically the exact same rotors as offered here. Mine have this unrubbed space also, but it does not seem to rust (yet).

Re: Those who have Lindsay drilled and slotted Rotors

It's the same size rotor. Produces the same gap. I think it's supposed to be like that.

Re: Those who have Lindsay drilled and slotted Rotors

just mask it off and use oven paint or any other high temp paint and spray the hats on the rotors, it will cover up the rust....
