Re: HHO More MPG!

to add to that, although i dont practice this, ride around with your tank 1/2 full instead of filling up; weight saved.

Re: HHO More MPG!

Reviving the thread here...

Was talking about this with my dad, a retired master mechanic, who brought it up on his own. The bottom line on the matter is that the HHO Generator is beneficial for highway driving only. You'll only see a noticeable difference over long distance. There are no major detriments, and the risk of blowing up your car is almost nil.

So heres some questions for the knowledgeable science guys. This generator basically brings me back to 7th grade science class where we broke down water with an anode and a cathode. The electrodes were on opposite sides of an aperture that allowed for the separation of the gases. The Mason jar technique performs the same function, but doesn't seperate the H2 from the O.

Upon the combustion process, you are molecule for molecule recombing the water that was previously broken down in the mason jar. Reffering back to the oxygen sensor problem, I'm curious how this is affected. If the Hydrogen/Oxygen mix is introduced into the intake after the sensor, then technically the sensor wouldn't measure an increase in oxygen. Additionally, like I said, upon combustion, the gases are recombined molecule for molecule and the product is water again. You would get no additional oxygen in your exhaust gas that would be measured by the O2 sensor in the exhaust pipes.

Im not suggesting that I would set this up in my own ride, I'm just curious to see what others think about these potential confounds that really don't present a problem.

The system does work, I'm just not sure that I provides any practical level of use.

Re: HHO More MPG!

If I had a project lawn mower motor and alternator system I would try this and measure the results just to have eye witness results. In theory though I can take a leap with the following requirements:
  1. There is a noticeable ratio of fuel + air + HHO, not just a trickle
  2. HHO burns at or slightly cooler than the regular fuel
  3. HHO is close in stability to the regular fuel quality being burned
  4. The energy used to make the HHO is from waste energy not used to propel the vehicle.

With those requirements fulfilled then I can see the gas savings being made without damage to the vehicle.
