| | Parking manners survey When you are parked and someone parks behind you with some piece of junk and uses the touch method, which means the metal license plate screw has left a hole in that beautiful rear bumper of your CTS- what do you do?
1. Oh well, that's what bumpers are for
2. Wait till they show up and threaten them unless they fix the bumper-around $600.
3. Take your key and do as much damage to their car as you think you can get away with.
4. Wait till they show up and just beat them with a pipe until you feel better. |

The report said it wasn't my fault so I had no $500 deductable and no at-fault accident added to my rate calculation. Oh, a new front bumper cover with paint and installation was about $900. |

| | | Re: Parking manners survey A few years ago I actually had an older woman back into my front bumper while I was in the vehicle. It was a good jolt too.
When I initially attempted to exchange some information with her, she replied in a very annoyed with me tone, that this is what bumpers were designed/intended for.
Parking by braille!
It wasn't until I pulled out my phone to call for police assistance that she become more cooperative. I didn't want to bully a woman old enough to be my mother.
Needless to say, her insurance paid for a new license plate mounting bracket. |

| | | Re: Parking manners survey Don't know about other states, but in Michigan if it happens in a parking lot, there is no enforcement on private property so the best you'll get will be a courtesy report from the police for your insurance. Then you'll need to sue the other guy for your deductible.
It is actually better if there is no "other car" as most insurance companys will waive the deductible if the vehicle was legally parked, unoccupied at the time of the collision and there is no "other car"/unk suspect veh. Happened to me and $1000 deductible was quickly waived when I provided the very short courtesy police report. |

| It's like that in Arkansas too. If its not a public road, then the police just dont show up. |

Does that mean I can fly down it at whatever speed I like and the cops cant do jack? Cuz I know it's the same here, they can't charge you in parking lots. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
