my cell is the biggest pos...long story. I paid for a very nice nascar style phone with a lot of cool features. It broke. I had insurance. They don't make it anymore. They gave me the low end pos as a replacement. I went berserk. I still get $50 pos for the $350 I paid for the nice phone. I F!ing hate ALLTEL!

never get insurance on your cell phone unless its a crackberry or something and you need it for work reasons.
I had insurance on a cell phone a few years back, same situation as you; had to pay $50 to the insurance company (as if the $100 bucks i had already paid throughout the year via monthly insurance cost wasnt enough) and i got a refurbished phone that wasnt even the same model as mine. And, i had to send mine back to them. never again.
my mothers LG Chocolate broke a few weeks ago, she regretted not having insurance. But when i got her a phone off ebay for $41 bucks, shipped, she was happy. Thats less than what she would have had to pay the insurance company to give her another phone; not to mention less than how much she would have paid in accumulated monthly insurance payments ($6/month * 1 1/4 years = $90).

moral of the story: most of the time, phone insurance = not worth it.
