few questions..

alright guys how do you know if your cts, has the traction control thing where its sport mode off or on or whatever it is, by looking at a add online (where is the switch etc)

Do cts's have the driver information center or whatever that tells you your fuel economy and all that?

would yall recomend an extended warranty on an 04 cts with 45k miles?

Re: few questions..

The TC switch is in the glove box.

Yes, the CTS has a DIC in the dash that tells fuel mileage and a ton of other information.

I've been very lucky with my 03 but I think most people on this site would recommend an extended warranty on the CTS.

i cant understand half of what you're saying, but i think you're asking how to tell if the Traction Control is on or not, and how to tell if you are in sport mode or not.

On your gauge cluster (above the steering wheel), a light will turn on with a green S that has a circle around when you put the car into Sport Mode.
When you turn the Traction Control off, (by pushing the button on the inside of the glove box, to the left), a yellow light with TC and a slash through it will appear on the gauge cluster.

Yes, there is a DIC, as another member stated. It is in the center of your dash & you can scroll through it using the arrows on the right side of the center console.

Get the extended warranty.

Re: few questions..

wow ya sorry my question didnt make much sense at all. So do you have to reach over to the glove box and turn the traction control off everytime you start your car? Also where is the sport mode button?

Re: few questions..

Traction control is always off, if the wheels starts to lose traction, the computer automatically engages the traction control & a message will pop on the DIC alerting you that the Traction Control has been engaged.
You can manually disable traction control so that even when the wheels lose grip, the TC wont come on. To do so, press the button in the glove box. And this resets each time you turn the car off, so if whenever you want to completely disable TC from coming on, reach over & push the button. An indicator light will come on your dash, to the left of the odometer.

I'm not sure where the sport mode button is on the 3.2L, but on the 3.6L just shift the shifter to the right (no button).. but not sure about the 3.2L engine.

Re: few questions..

sport mode button is in the same spot on the 3.2 its next to the shifer...
i just learned if you puch and hold the traction control button it will turn off the TC and the Stability system.. kinda nice to know ..
you can move the button somewhere more convenient... its not the hardest thing 2 do...ive considered it a couple times...but probably never will get around to it,..i dont use it much, i just leave it on.

I programmed one of the buttons on the radio/dic to disable the traction control. Much closer than the glove box.
