There is only one extra wire you need for the navigation to work and that is the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire. Weather or not that wire is still back there, tied into the steering column is unknown.

I kind of forgot how hard it was ripping off the gauge cluster from these cars. It's tough.

I guess when hooking up the nav if it isn't there I'll go out and get the VSS wire. Thanks! Should I just follow the FAQ on installation then minus all of the additional work since all of the wires should already be there?

Re: upgrading to navigation questions

If it came from the factory with the Nav, the harnessing is all there. It may still have the GPS antenna installed above the instrument panel, as well. It sounds like the Nav died (likely the six disk CD changer), and someone replaced it as cheaply as possible to sell it.

Installation of a new/replacement nav is plug and play (after you get the theftlock cleared).

I've decided not to mess with it and leave the car stock until the certified warranty runs out in 3yrs

So after I swap it out, take it to a cadillac dealership to get them to clear the theftlock?
