Impala prices have increase $1,000 per year and there are always $4000 rebates on it.
Price increases are the norm. Every car has them. The 300 is new this year and sets a preset level, but it too will rise in price. I believe 1.5% per year is the norm for all cars. Then you typically have price increases during the model year, normally 2, but they usually accompany a change/addition of equipment...This is one reason why Cadillac is introducing the 2.8L sub $29K car...

Absolutely...remember the 1997 Corvette started at $38k? What's the msrp for an '04? $44-45k right?

I think GM is doing the right thing with the CTS so far. The price increases seem steeper than their *average car*, but when its selling at a 55-60K unit pace, they can get away with it. If sales start to slow considerably, then they need to ease off the increases to avoid permanent rebates. But for now, they can milk this cash cow.

I don't know how he did it but another poster switched his 03 instrument cluster for an 04. He wanted the temp gauge instead of the analog clock. The price at that time was around $400.

You can have a body shop watch for a "used" one.

Aside from the silver trim rings, did the instruments change otherwise? Is the styling of the gauges identical to the '04 or did they use the V cluster?

It's basically identical to the V, but without the large Info system windows.

Re: Does anyone have pictures of 2005 CTS?

Too bad. I like the '03-'04 CTS cluster better. I am going to buy a CTS but was unable to find and '04 with the options that I want so I am getting an '05 now. A little disappointed they change the cluster.

Re: Does anyone have pictures of 2005 CTS?

ok i FiNALLY got some pix of the changes 2005 has. the gauges are like V w/o info window, but the rings around them are chrome, not brushed aluminum like V. this was a base 3.6L CTS(hoping for the new engine, but i felt the chances were very slim), no maroni on it yet, but the wheels are painted, not machine faced, no wood, nav, bose, sunroof, etc. the antenna on top where XM usually goes for us non-05ers is the diversity antenna. that's the name i saw it called on another website i can't remember. i guess its the radio, XM (if it would have it, this on didn't), and On Star. i did not see any other exterior or interior changes on this one we had in the back. i guess more will unravel as time goes on! hope the pix helped on my explanation!
