I am new to this forum & have researched all of the threads about installing the SIR-GM1 in my '05 CTS without ever having XM. With that said, I have a couple questions that I could not find answers to. I had my car Tech II'd last week & the XM mode has not shown up on the band button with FM1, FM2 & AM. Is this because I currently do not have a Satellite receiver hooked up yet or did the Tech do something wrong?
The Cadillac Tech that did the Tech II said the radio is recognizing the satelite option. I am waiting for my harness to arrive from Radios&More before installing the SIR-GM1. My other question is about using the XM antenna. If I buy the antenna adapter from TSS-Radio will I be able to use the XM antenna even though my car never came with XM? I do have the Dual input antenna on my roof which was standard in '05. If anyone has any new and improved suggestions to installing this, I would greatly appreciate you passing them on.
