like orlando & coma said, it stands for "c-series touring sedan" ...but on some parts of the car the word "catera" has been stamped on.
there was an older thread debating & explaining this..went back and forth, but i think the "official" word was that its C-Series, not catera

says "The CTS name likely came from the initials of Catera Touring Sedan".
Wikipedia is not always correct though. Also, there is more information on the "discussion" tab. Really confused now?
I always thought that it stands for "Cadillac Touring Sedan", like some of you have mentioned.
Who really knows? Where is a GM engineer when you need him? |

SOME people just don't like to relate this car to the Catera because had a lot of issues & wasn't thought of as a very good Caddy. |
