Tires=confusion

Remove this ad
I am soooooooo confused about tires. I have a 2007 cts 3.6l with stock 225/55/16's goodyear OEMs on. I live in Florida so good/great wet weather performance is a must..... Any suggustions on a very quiet, long lasting, good wet weather performance tire or am i asking the impossible?. I know there are a few threads out there and trust me have read them all, that is where the confusion sets in. I would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks,
fcfinc

Re: Tires=confusion

Welcome to the forum!

Here's a recent thread on tires:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...est-tires.html (The quietest tires.)

Do a forum search there are probably many threads on this topic.

I'm running kumho ecsta tires during the summer. Don't really have a comparison on if they are quiet, how they wear, etc. They came on some rims I bought from a guy. I've been happy with them, but I'm sure they are designed more for summer high performance more than quietness or ride.

Re: Tires=confusion

Honestly....I REALLY liked the sumo ttohmo tires.. they were really sticky and very quiet. Last quite a long time also. I live in florida as well. GREAT tires at a reasonable price!! =)

Re: Tires=confusion

Go to tirerack.com, input your car or tire size, and read the the reviews for all the tires that show up. There are lots of options. The most expensive does not always equate to the best tire, either. I was running Bridgestone Potenzas, but they were a little pricey. They worked incredible at the track (road course).

Now I'm running General Exclaim UHPs. Much cheaper, cool tread, and the seem to work fine for street driving. They're one of the lowest price performance tires on tirerack, but rated #1 in their class, as well by users.
