| | | Re: Please Help!!! Mine has always idled around 550 RPM since new. I do notice that if you give it just enough throttle to idle at about 700 RPM, the roughness smooths right out. There was a TSB for 3.2L rough idle, that basically reflashed software with the new idle speed. Magically, it solves the rough idle issue! |

Does that seem reasonable to you guys? On Onstar website it shows

39.90/month* or $438/year* (plus tax)
please advise. | 6 months ago, I asked a Caddy dealer in San Anton. $750 to $850 area was the quote as I remember. |

Free software update? I called up Old Mill Cadillac (1 minute from my place) and they told me $130. Where did you do yours?
I'm thinking of doing some small things as well, changing the belt/s (definitely not at royfoss) and maybe the shock absorbers because the roads are horrible everywhere. Tomorrow/Today I'm hitting Buffalo to get new tires (Nexen N3000 @ $100 installed and balanced). Cheapest I found in Tdot was $155. I figured I'll save $220 and get some outlet mall shopping done while I'm at it. |
what size tires? factory 17s? there are a few tire shops in mississauga...only 1 i would really recomend...frontire tire..they hooked me up good with a set of rims and tires pushin 3 -4 summers ago when 20s were big...lol now they are just average. i paid 2200 tax in for 20"boss rims with hankook K104 tires...every other shop wanted round 3000 plus taxes at that time for the same rims and tires. but rims have dropped in price in the past couple years. |

| | | Re: Please Help!!! Mike,
What about the software flush for the rpm's? Where did you get it for free?
I also want to clarify something for the other posts. When you start the car, yes it idles at 1200 or so for a while. When I go for a boot around town and I'm stopped at an intersection (after driving) or in traffic or at a Mc.D drive-through, it idles at 550-570 rpms and just like Odysseus said, if you rev it just a bit to go to 650-700 it becomes completely smooth. I cannot imagine people's cars idling constantly at 1200, think of how much gas you'll be waisting. Kissdarings is at 550 as well. |
