Re: hid kit on 2004 cts

the install is pretty easy, once you get down to it. I don't know of a step-by-step other than removal of the front bumper. It's easier than you think

I'm interested in doing the same but I thought that maybe I could buy the bulbs. What does the kit do?

You need the kit to power those bulbs.

Re: hid kit on 2004 cts

the kit i bought from VVME, i had to drill a hole in the cap that covers the stock bulbs. It's hard to explain. there is a large plastic cap that covers the stock bulb. I just drilled a series of holes in a circular area and popped out the section with a screwdriver. the wire harness has a rubber grommet on it. It's really not a bad job once you get in there. Took me a few hours all the way around

Re: hid kit on 2004 cts

I have that 35W DDM Slim Ballast kit in my lowbeams.

What I did is drill a 1" hole on the dust cap. 1" makes the rubber thing that comes with these kits fit PERFECTLY. I had some pics of what it looks like somewhere, but I am too lazy to search for them. Good kit, very slim, fits in stock location perfectly too.

Re: hid kit on 2004 cts

awesome,i was looking for something that would fit on stock location.any problems with the lights flickering?did u buy the hid wiring harness thats sold separately? this is a quote from their site
"The battery harness is still required if your car has daytime running lights or has wiring of insufficient size (typically in Hondas and Mazdas) to power the HID kit" do i need to purchase it?thanks
