Question about radio *Theaftlock*

I have a friend who has a Snap-On ETech... would this work to unlock the radio... I know you guys all say Tech II... I called my dealer and they said it was technically illegal for them to unlock the radio... Guess it's time to find a new dealer... You'd think after spending $40k with them they would be more helpful... Just wanted to know if the ETech by SnapOn would work... Thanks in advance

What the dealer needs to unlock the radio is proof of ownership like a bill of sale. You don't get this if you buy the radio from one of the guys that hangs around the front of the liquor store. It takes a TECH II or a clone.

The dealership I went to did not ask for this. The guy was "impressed" that I managed the install myself. I was like, it was quite easy.

Do you think the SnapOn ETech is a clone of the Tech II... Is that what you are saying... Sorry to keep on about it, my buddy will do it for free, just don't want to waste the gas to go there and have it not work

I don't know anything about the Snapon unit. The TECH II cost from $3500 to $5000 depending on the accessories. How about the ETech?
