This has been discussed in earlier posts and dismissed as being too involved, too complicated, too expensive, and too impractical. It makes far more sense to trade cars for one equipped like you desire.

Re: How hard is it to convert a 5L40E auto 3.2 to Getrag 260 manual?

Well....even though it was discussed and too much time and $$ some people would probably want to do it. I know 03cts is going to try and do it. Obviously there will be massive modifications needed but it can be done. I am going to help look into it more for 03cts. But I wouldnt leave a thread out for the reasons you stated. People like to do things to cars others dont. MEGA props to who does this...but i am going to help 03cts in research. I will chime in.

People do like customization ya know =)

Here are some of the components needed

Manual transmission Getrag 260
Rear differential
Front portion of drive shaft (or whole thing) from “”
pedal cluster with brake and clutch pedal
clutch cable
clutch disk
clutch pressure plate
starter for manual car
flywheel
flywheel bolts
throwout bearing
pilot bearing
Transmission crossmember
shift linkage
shift boot/shift surround.
Factory service manual.
