The quietest tires.

If that is even a word, what is the quietest tire out there? Of course as most of us here, I would probably want to limit this question in the "$200 or less" price range. I heard Nexen N3000 were nice and quiet. Someone said that Falkens 452's are a good buy. Both of these are good performers and are not too expensive, which fits into my hierarchy of needs:

-Price
-Noise Level
-Performance
-Life Length

Anyone can speak from experience on these or any others out there? I'll send you my old tires as a gesture of gratitude!!! ;-)

Re: The quietest tires.

I bought the General UHP tires off of TireRack...about $122 a tire.....they have the highest rating in their class...and so far...with about 2k on them..they're good. THey're not loud...handle just fine.....and seem to be well worth the money, given that they were the cheapest.

Don't know if that helps you or not.....I bought 18" rims..and slapped those bad boys on them, and I'm happy as a pig in shit with them.

Re: The quietest tires.

Yeah, I guess I should also mention that the size I'm looking for is 245/45/18

Thanks cartdawg

Re: The quietest tires.

Assuming you are not looking for a sporty tire? Anything with good grip is probably going to make noise.

My wife's Pilot has goodyear integrity which are quiet, do well in the rain, and have almost 70000 miles on them without being close to the wear bars. Even the Goodyear LS2 on my CTS have been impressive to me so far.

Re: The quietest tires.

The dealer service told me the Michelins are the quetest. I went to Discount tire but they were high in price so I bought the yokohama, which are loud.

Re: The quietest tires.

A note on the good year tires OEM (eagles RSA): These tires were new when the vehicle was purchased. I have only had them rotated one time as well as balanced. At 30 some K the wear is incredible. They look as if they are new. I do believe I will get another 20k out of them. I have read a lot of posts where people have had them replace at 6k and so one. I guess I got a good set no issues with these OEM tires at all.

Re: The quietest tires.

I have the General UHP's on mine too. I am extremely happy with them. I don't think you can beat them for the price!

Re: The quietest tires.

But are they quiet or just OK on noise, I'd rather pay an extra 50 bones and have a quiet ride?

Re: The quietest tires.

Bridgestone Potenza Serenety tires will be the queiet tires you are looking for don't know if the make them in that size or not.
These tires are made in base and sports/lux model sizes.

Check out BFgoodrich G-force super sport A/S tires good reviews and are fairly quiet.
