haha i bet you will laugh more when i tell you where it was... qew - ( to hamilton) off ramp to dixie rd... the sign marking the curb gets taken down by a car at least 3x a week and every time i drive by it with my gf i point out how the sign is broken again and how i cant figure out how people manage to hit it....lol...well i came really close

at one point the city actually put in a sign on a spring so you could knock it over and it wouldnt break it would just pop back up, but that didnt last long...lol

I had the same problem and this is what I did. I own a 03 CTS. It might not be right but it's safer then having the car's cruise control turn off all the time when the warning comes on or having the brakes apply for a mili-second unexpected. I disconnected the the wires from the sensor. You have to take off the cover under the steering column first to be able to see the hook up to the sensor. It only took about 4 philip screws to do that. I thought maybe the connection was loose so I tried a couple of times disconnecting it and re-connecting it. Took it for a test drive and the warning would still show up and disrupt the cruise control. I disconnected the sensor and it worked out just fine. The warning feature will show up only when you start the car and not until the next time you start the car. I can live with that. I know it's a safety feature but I'm not going to pay $300 to $400 to fix it. The sensor will just have to stay disconnected . At least I know for sure it's the sensor on the steering column. Hope this helps someone else.

Re: stability system engaged???

How long do you have to hold the traction control button to disable the stability controll aswell? And is there any indicator that it is turned off?
