I followed the intructions for the first step of the navi conversion. I understood the second step to fix sound so that the volume gets lowered when the navi talks. I thought that without the second step, the sound would still work but come over the normal sound.

This is what threw me off. I thought I needed to have a bose amp to continue with step 2.
