| Re: Tinted the tails (again) The entire process is pretty easy & I imagine anyone without any paint booth experience could get similar results as what I ended up with. Like Tommy said, this stuff will run like crazy if you lay it on too heavy. You really just have to put down REALLY light coats! The first two coats I did were just a light mist barely covering everything. The next two were a bit heavier. You just have to have patience and not rush it. Just remove the lights & wash everything down really well with dish soap. Then tape off everything you don't want sprayed & do light coats waiting about 10 minutes between each. Take your time & you should be ok.
You don't have to clear them, but I had read that it was a matte finish if you don't, so I did. I waited about 45 minutes before I cleared them. Tommy gave me the heads up about the Spray Max 2K clear which is freakin awsome.Cost me almost $45 for 2 cans shipped, but it's worth it IMO.I ended up with some dust & lint in the clear this time & there is some orage peel, but it'll all come out with some 2000 grit paper & a good buffing. Good thing I bought myself a new buffer for Christmas last year! |
