| | | CTS in snow I'm close to buying an 05 CTS but my major concern is winter weather and how the CTS handles it. I do plan on buying a set of 4 winter tires but the last RWD car I owned about 15 years ago was a nightmare in snow. Will it handle a northeast winter or will it be an adventure? Thanks |

| | | Re: CTS in snow The CTS is more balanced than the old cars. In my first year I was delighted with the performance in snow. The Traction control also helps out. As the tires get older you loose traction and get frustrated, but that happens with FWD as well. I recently hit 60k and had to replace the tires and this winter hed no problem in the snow. |

| | | Re: CTS in snow im in the same boat...no questions about it im gettin 4 snow tires..(grand prix rims fit im looking 4 some used steelies cheap, and trying to find them now when people are tryin 2 get rid of them)
i think it will be a little better than my last 2wd rwd for winter, it was a pickup . cars are generally a little better in snow than 2wd trucks. just gotta put some weight in the back.
the cts has winter mode, it puts it in 3rd or 4th gear to start off the line for less tire spin. dont know how much help that will actually be, but i guess ill find out.
ive been babied with 4x4 with 4 snow tires the past couple winters so this is definately gonna be a little more of a challenge but im ready 4 it, and if worse comes 2 worse ill pick up the cheapest 4x4 or awd i can find and drive the piss outa it lol.
by the way i was living in barrie for the last 6 winters, its called "the snow belt" of ontario...this winter ill be in the city, im not teaching snowboarding anymore. |

| | | Re: CTS in snow With snow tires you will be great. I had Blizzaks WS-60s put on mine this year and I had no problems what so ever. i live on a huge hill and had no problems getting up it even in 8+ inches of snow.

| | | Re: CTS in snow 4 snow tires are a must, not a "want"....a "must". Once you have them you are fine. I wnet my first winter without them, and it was challenging> (We get a lot of snow in Alberta...) |
