I think there is 2 connections (1 on each side) Look at the other one. Im 35 miles away from my car, or I would check for you...

Re: HELP broke wire for rear window defroster

It's a single wire that comes out of the center top of the back window, has a black plastic disk on the end of the wire that attaches to the window, the back side of the disk & the corresponding spot where it attaches to the window both look like they have a silver, metal type coating which is why I was asking if it could be glued back on or if it is some metal to metal type connection. It connects to the top smaller section of wires that run through the back window.

This isn't for an antenna is it? The radio antenna is in the front window right?

Re: HELP broke wire for rear window defroster

Your radio antenna is in the front glass, and your onstar antenna is a thick ass cable coming from the pass. side piller. Youre correct, thats for the defrost lines.
Do you even use them?

Re: HELP broke wire for rear window defroster

There must be an electrical connection between the clip in your hand and the window grid. I've see in some auto parts stores a repair kit used when people scratch the electric lines. Maybe you can use that to repair it. Option B would be to try to solder it, but careful, excessive heat could crack the glass.

thnx for the tips, i figured since it looked like a metal to metal connection i couldn't just glue it, i'll look for that kit.

Re: HELP broke wire for rear window defroster

I wonder if radio-shack has a cold solder glue? May be worth a call to them.
