| | | HELP broke wire for rear window defroster was cleanin up my car today & I hit the wire in the rear window for the defroster & detached it from the window, bonehead maneuver!! does anybody know, is this just glued on or does it require metal to metal contact, how do i reattach? thnx |

| | | Re: HELP broke wire for rear window defroster It's a single wire that comes out of the center top of the back window, has a black plastic disk on the end of the wire that attaches to the window, the back side of the disk & the corresponding spot where it attaches to the window both look like they have a silver, metal type coating which is why I was asking if it could be glued back on or if it is some metal to metal type connection. It connects to the top smaller section of wires that run through the back window.
This isn't for an antenna is it? The radio antenna is in the front window right?

I've see in some auto parts stores a repair kit used when people scratch the electric lines. Maybe you can use that to repair it. Option B would be to try to solder it, but careful, excessive heat could crack the glass. |
