Shifting & Engine Breaking with your V

Questions for you V Owner's, What are the Do's and Do Not's with your V as far as Shifting and Down Shifting. On a previous thread I saw the best way to save Gas is shifting from 1st to 4th ?
Is it O.k to Down shift all the time "engine Breaking" while also using your breaks ?
If your in say 2nd gear and you drive it up 5 to 7000 rpm,s and then let off, back down to 2 or 3. Is that bad for your Transmission/engine ?
The Dealership did not tell me anything about driving it and I know with certain cars there are certain things you can do and certain things you Do Not because of the High Performance Motor............. Thanks and looking forward to everyone's input
