Great write-up, JimmyH! I installed a Parrot Ck3100 in my '06 SRX non-Bose last year. The Ck3100 has a set of line-level output wires to use with head-units that have line inputs. I don't know if the other Parrot kits have this or not. I spliced the line-level out wires into the Parrot ISO plugs so that line-level is fed into the Cadillac's amp instead of the speaker level that the Parrot normally puts out. The Parrot kits work great. I have used them in several of my cars now.

Re: How to install Parrot Bluetooth on a CTS Bose

I think everything above the CK3000 has line level output.

Actually, the CK3000 does too (I think) but you have to splice into the wiring before the parrot's amp.

All the newer kits have the amp and relay's built in to the brain box, so that is why they offer a line level output.
I actually think I am going to upgrade to the MK6100. I put one in my wife's pilot, and I like it alot better. The ring tone is an actual ring, instead of the evolutions stupid little beep. And everything is done via the screen instead of evolutions audible prompts (from the bitch with French accent )

If I do, I am going to try sending the line level into the bose amp, and get a new phone that has a2dp, and see how it sounds streaming mp3 audio.

Re: How to install Parrot Bluetooth on a CTS Bose

Man, these are some great writeups! Thanks for taking the time to educate us.

One big question: Do these same mods work on an STS, assuming the config is the same?

Thanks,
Alan

Re: How to install Parrot Bluetooth on a CTS Bose

I have no idea how the audio setup is on an STS.

I am in the process of redoing again though. I bought an MK6100.

Re: How to install Parrot Bluetooth on a CTS Bose

Update:

I just got a phone with a2dp bluetooth (Sony w580i). I copied a song onto the phone and hooked it up to the MK6100.

It sounds AWESOME! If I flip from the phone to a CD, you can tell a slight difference in quality with bluetooth, but go from FM radio to it and it is incredible.
The best part is you press ONE button on the parrot remote, and your phone starts playing the music automatically. It can be buried away in your pocket, in the armrest, doesn't matter. Only downside is you have to pull out the phone to stop it if you want to go back to radio. The parrot only has a play pause (and fast forward and rewind) button. Pausing it does just that. Pause and dead silence.

I will have a new writeup forthcoming. I have all the pictures, I just have to update this writeup. One note to anyone using the MK6100; install the external microphone. The mics built into the display suck ass. The external ones have exceptional quality though.

Re: How to install Parrot Bluetooth on a CTS Bose

I am still working this out. The kit I had in my cts was working great. But the one in my wife's car is having major problems. All kinds of static and popping during phone calls. The a2dp on the other hand sounds wonderful. So I gave her mine. I am waiting to hear back from Parrot on what they can do for me.
