I did some research and nothing is mentioned about using a US cluster in a canadian model car. I was wondering if that could be done, or if I would have to buy a canadian based cluster model?

Thank you in advance.

I can't see why it wouldn't. The only problem i can see is that the US cluster only goes to 160. So if you regularly do over 160 km/h, the US cluster wont display that.
the only issue ive thought about is that if its like the new model gmc trucks, the milage is recorded within the speedo itsself, if this does it, you may get in trouble for lowering miles, or increasing them and hurting the value of ur vehicle

I've read many thread on this and it seems that they dont have a problem with this at all. Just plug N play
When I changed out my cluster I dealt with Specmo on the phone to get some things fixed on the new one. They were very easy to deal with and had spare parts for the clusters for pretty cheap.
Is it possible that the speed gauge works the same in both but they just have different plastic inserts with mph/kph. The needle might rise the same in both the numbers might just be in different positions. If that was the case Specmo might have the kph insert you could swap.
And isn't there a function that switches the car to metric units? I'm pretty sure there is on mine but it might only switch temp and other things in the DIC. Since the miles are digital it might switch them, might be a long shot though.
Specmo has to program any clusters swapped anyway so at the least it's probably something they could do.

I've read threads on your swap, seems like what your saying isnt that complicated. I think your right it will work either way (switches Kph-Mph), just change the inserts if needed.
