Whaddya spray black behind the V grille?

I had a body shop install a V grille on a black '06 CTS. I brought the black hi-temp spray paint with me and told them to black-out behind the grille whatever should be painted (based on this sites posts). Grille looks great - but if you look straight down at it there is a bright metal strip showing just inside the grille. I can't tell if this is unpainted bumper (which they said they had to remove to install the grille) or what. My question - am I being Arnie Anal or should these dinks have painted the obvious bright, shiny metal strip? It would seem to me if you have a can of black spray paint in your hand you'd use it. Your responses will help me formulate mine to the body shop. Thanks alot.

got any picts, but it sould like they should of been painted it if it's nice and shiny. if it bothers you i'm sure you already know the answer to your question.

Im pretty sure the part you are talking about is the impact bar. I remember when i had my bumper off many times... Its almost polished... it is very shiny

I would go back and just ask them to look at it with you and point it out

yeah, thats the aluminum impact bar like steve said, and id take it back and make them paint it, i mean they got paid to do it, and they didnt do what you asked.

Yup, like they said, it's the aluminum part of the bumper you're lookin at. That was what caught my eye the most when I put my V grille on & that's the reason I blacked out everything behind the grille. It would bother the $hit out of me if I was you.
