I have a 2003 CTS. A while ago the airbag light came on. It doesn't always come on(most of the time though) but when it does it also interferes with the stereo system. I believe the speakers because the song will continue playing but the speakers cut out for a time.. This happens when playing a cd or the radio.
I took the car to both a private shop and also a Cadillac dealer. Both hooked the car to the computer and saw no errors..
I get the airbag light intermittently, there is a plug under the passenger seat, I unplug it and reseat it that seems to fix it every time. It happens about 3 times a year.
Thanks for the reply samd and I am fine with doing that... Where under the passenger seat is it? I thought it would be under the rear bench seat where the fuse box is... Can you point out more specifically where this plug is??
Under the front part of the passenger seat there is a yellow plug. Disconnect it and reconnect it. That should fix it. Note: it may be different for different years, mine is an 03 with a manual passenger front seat. The plug is yellow for the air bag sensor.
hey there im new to this site just bought a 2003 cadillac cts 3 months ago and i seem to have a problem with the airbag light indication on my dash always being on, also when i pull up the codes i get 2 that can not be reset (ipc u1000 and irc u1000) i dont know if they have anything to do with the airbag.
every time i get in my car and start the engine or have it on the on possition the air bag light flashes 6 times but instead of going off and just having the seatbelt light on the seatbelt light goes off and the airbag light stays on though out my driving, i have noticed that if i play with the stering wheel before i start the car or having it on the on possition that sometimes i will go off! and i am able to clear those 2 codes mentioned above. but im not really sure if that might be the cause.
any help would be appriciated
thanks in advance
I have an 03 as well. u1000 is Class 2 communication malfunction. I get it all the time, when I reset it, it comes right back. I don't think it causes any problems.
Reseat the yellow connectors under both front seats. That shoud resolve the Air-bag light.
No, I did mine with the power off. I unplugged it, then pushed the plug back together. That seemed to fix it. When I started it back up the light was off. Sorry I couln't help you.
