no, i would leave the stock amp alone. I removed the stock sub ( lets more bass inside the cab now )

I'll proably get the wheels towards the end of the summer, (they're exspensive for me), but i'll definatley get pics up once they're on.

just so u know lord Cadillac has a write up on this in the audio section .. a shallow mount pioneer sub in a truck box i believe but u gotta go there for more info, should be stickied even ... btw, random note ... cadillac is apparently wrong to the spell checker, Cadillac must be respected!

wow this thread seems old. Just an update about whats happened since then. I ended up getting my system in, instead of wheels. so right now, im saving up for the 22'"s.

I just got wheels, now I'm looking to add subwoofers and an amp. I have a bunch of old stuff from previous systems so I'll piece something together from the parts. I'm just really dredding running the wires and stuff.

Here's what I installed
2 12" Alpine Type R subs-Sundown 1500D powering them
Phoenix Gold comps (front) and coaxs (rear)- Alpine Mrp-f450 amp
JL cleansweep (instead of an aftermarket head unit)
and I dynamated the trunk, all 4 doors, and the roof.

Nice setup...I am doing the type-r thing but with a elemental designs amp
