18 x 8.5 with 45mm offset works

Remove this ad
Well, I got my new rims on today. They're the Niche Venice.

I ended up getting 18 x 8.5 114.3x5 with 45mm offset. I was a bit nervous as Ody can testify to and I did put the aluminum hubcentric rings on (72.62 x 70.3mm) .

I'll get pictures up when the weather is better and I can wash the car.

No vibration, no rub at all so far. I did 3 or 4 tight radius turns at the shop and also drove 35 miles on them so far and checked for any rub (due to the 45mm offset) when I got home.

Got the car up to about 90mph on the highway and noticed no vibration at all and alignment seemed straight as an arrow.

Tires are 245/45/18 Federal SS595

Pictures of rims and tires:

tire:

RIMS Niche Venice 18 x 8.5

I'm hoping to have photos in the next day or so of them on the car.

good stuff, post them pics. still love those rims. like i said to ya, i had those in a 42mm offset 20" 245/35 tire and lowered, the only slight rub i had was on the inside of the tire when reversing and turning sharp. i just had to do it more slowly is all.

Re: 18 x 8.5 with 45mm offset works

sorry to bring up an old thread, but are the hubcentric rings you ordered a unviversal size for all 114.3 setups or is it dependant on the rim bore? i have my eye on some 114.3 rims and i need to figure which aluminum rings to purchse.

it was dependent on the hub bore. I'll go back and see if I can find the exact size.

I just have never found a good time to do it!

All I have is some pics in my garage from my phone. If the weather is good this weekend I'll get some taken.

Here's the size of the hubcentrics I bought, I got the aluminum ones.

O.D. 72.62 - I.D. 70.3

i was thinking that might be the correct size, but i'm not sure how wheel manufacturers cut their bores, i.e. if they are all the same or have their own dimensions.

Re: 18 x 8.5 with 45mm offset works

I believe the inside dimension is based on the car's hub and the outside is the wheel you're using. MHT told me these were the ones to get for my rims so I did.

Seems to be no problem at all so far.
