Still need help with Infinity Kappa

I still have the 2ohm components that I want to install myself but i havent got an answer on how I wire up the crossover that comes with the speakers since the factory signal is already split at the amp. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Still need help with Infinity Kappa

i could be wrong, but i believe the factory crossover only splits out the sub. meaning it still sends full range to the rest of the speakers (as opposed to sending only the very highs to the tweeters). so you should be alright with running your crossover on the infiniti separates.

Re: Still need help with Infinity Kappa

From what ive read the rear doors are the only full range and that the front doors are only midrange due to the signal being split at the amp?!?

If you have components, they should come with passive x-overs. so input wire to x-over from amp, and then x-over should give you midrage and tweeter independent outputs

Re: Still need help with Infinity Kappa

Im still confused. If I take the factory signal from the front doors and run it to the new crossover with the components, how will the tweeters get the highs from the new crossover if the crossover is just receiving a mid range signal from the factory amp?

Re: Still need help with Infinity Kappa

It wont.....You either need to re-wire from the midranges, or use the stock x-over....You can just, with the help of a wiring diagram, cut the wire from the amp to the tweets, and hook that up to your x-over so you dont have to re-run the wiring, but now it will be connected to the x-over. Then tap into the mids and run that to the x-over and voila....you have it all hooked up and working...only problem is that you have to turn everything to the rear and have no fade capabilities....or just use stock x-over and just replace the speakers....or just add an external ampl for $200 and call it a day and have 100x times better sound

Thats what i want to do then i need a cleansweep or something and then the amount i would spend would keep going up. Im no music fanatic. I just want it to sound decent at the level I listen to which is pretty low so I think this will work best for me.
