| | | Painting my Stock Grill I saw a pic of a guy who painted his stock grill to match his car. I was thinkin about it and what would i have to do it do this effectivly and make it look good. Could i just buy paint for the auto parts store in those spray bottles, sand it down to get the gloss off a bit, prime it, then spray it? and gloss over it? Has anyone done this? Anyone have any ideas? |

| | | Re: Painting my Stock Grill I've been thinking of doing the same thing with the stock grille (too cheap to buy the sport grille). I like the look, but not sure of the DIY job. I'd take mine to the body shop for paint, just 'cuz I'm no good at painting. |

| | | Re: Painting my Stock Grill found it, looks amazing http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...lle-black.html (Painting the Stock Grille Black)
there is a big controvery over what to do with the little chrome strip, i was thinkin just take it to the same guy that tinted my tails, fogs, heads, and side markers, and have him put the same tint over it, incase i ever want to put the V grill on i could just peel the tint right off, and he wouldnt charge me more then 10 bux or so.... for such a small job. Im thinking i should deffintly have the grill done professonally. Ill have to research it. |

get the grille painted professionally.
and as for the chrome hood strip, Jon, another member here, did a thread showing how he got rid of the hood strip. He covered it with piece of something i dont remember what, and it came out very well. You can take it off to. Search through his threads. good luck. |
