| | | Re: Brake calipers The key in painting anything and having it last is the surface prep. You could probably use Rustolium and have it look good if the calipers are cleaned and degreased first. I've picked up a box of black epoxy caliper paint for my Audi, but haven't used it yet, since the calipers are currently pretty crudded up. It's gonna take a lot of work, and that's project number 382 on my long list. Installing the Brembo Gran Turismo brake kit (two piece 14" Rotors and four piston fixed calipers) on the CTS is set for a few weekends from now (project #1 for now). Those calipers are already painted a pewter color for me. Then I need to install shims to quiet the Brembo front brake on my Indian Scout V-twin, but that's another story. |

| | | Re: Brake calipers Having Brembo brakes would be great, my problem with that is I put my stock 17" wheels on in the winter and than they wont fit. I know what you mean about the project list |

| | | Re: Brake calipers I painted mine black. Don't remember for sure, but think I used the G2 kit. I would use the kit because it is an epoxy paint that sets up really hard and I think it even includes brake parts cleaner. Did mine about a year ago (and 1 really bad WI winter) and they still look great. |

| | | Re: Brake calipers red is kind of ricey, even on a red car. I think black or silver is best, depending on the exterior colour.
Unless you use a really good, glossy paint, it is going to attract alot of brake dust. Even then you will find you are going to have to clean the calipers alot if you want a clean look.

I don't have any problems with brake dust build-up, but I'm also running a better, ceramic pad too, i don't even get much build-up on my rims. |
