Synthetic oil is proven to last longer tho than 3k ....in normal driving conditions...check any mercedes vehicle..they dont even do it until 10k with syn oil.
I'm usin mobil 1 5w-30 syn oil. Dealer told me that 7500 was the minimum...even in the brochure for services at the Caddy Dealership it lists oil changes at 3750; 11,250; 18,750; 26,250; 33,750; 41,250; 48,750; 56,250; 63,750; 71,250; 78,750; 86,250 (miles).

An syn oil is more than $30.... ;-)

Re: The DIC ....

Syn oil is slated to go more than 3k anyway...

Check any Mercedes..they do the same thing..they dont even list most oil changes until 10k mostly.

I'm looking at the 'Recommended Service Intervals' straight from the dealership right now...they have a pamphlet..the oil changes are recommended at: 3750; 11250; 18750; 26250; 33750; 41250; 48750; 56250; 63750; 71250; 78750; 86250 (miles)

I'd believe that...as the dealership's service dept. WANTS you to come in as often as possible and drop money. These are recommended and obviously not 100%.

Probably best to just look at the oil..if it's too grimey....change it..lol

Syn oil is more than $30 tho. To buy all the junk..which i just did thiis passed weekend..it was about $43 Mobil 1 syn 5w-30 and a fram oil filter.
