UUC Rotors & HPS Pads Installed

Remove this ad
Hello everyone,

Sorry about the delay on the write up, my son was sick for last few days but anyways. Here they are!!!!!

I would like to say thank you very much to Luke from Lindsay Cadillac without them this would not be possible. They provided me with rotos and pads which looks wicked. The customer service with Luke was excellent because my first set of rotors were warped. So Luke sent out a replacement order out and was in the next week. On top of that he even let me have the second set of rotors free of charge!!! Once again Thank You Luke. Thats not that last time they will be hearing from me. LOL

So far on the performance side, I really havent bedded the brakes yet because I just hit 1000km and my mechanic told me to take it slow because they can warp easily when not broken into. So I'll be on the safe side on wait another 500km or so to bed them in. I can sort of notice the difference in the breaking or I'm just really noob. Theres only a little tiny squeak on the left front when breaking down til 5km or slower (music pumping anayways). Luke said it should go away, I'm pretty sure too since it hasnt been bedded. Now these are install, I can drive with comfort knowing I can stop when and where I want.

Other than the reinstalling of the rotors and labour, everything I expected was phenomenal. I will soon write an update after bedded the brakes in and tell how everything went. I'm hoping for better and warmer weather to bed and I was wondering what does DO NOT DRAG BRAKES mean? What an ending lol

Re: UUC Rotors & HPS Pads Installed

Well I finally got around to burnishing the rotors and thisisi what I did (just a reminder that I had a little squeak coming from the driver side):

Burnishing Instructions

After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

After I did this, I went back out and still notice the squeaking on the driver side but less noticable. The brakes feels like it has a bit more bite to it since the procedure. Just a few questions.

Is there a problem with my rotors or pads?
How do I fix this problem?
Any suggestion is welcome!

Thank you
Paul Nguyen

did you apply pad glue on the back side of the pads. installed new rotors and pads not too long ago, and have no squeeks.
i used brake quiet pad glue and i greased up the slide pins.

Re: UUC Rotors & HPS Pads Installed

They look good! I ordered some drilled/slotted rotors from Rotorpros which should be here any day now.

Just a question. If you install new rotors, should anything special be done with the brakes? I mean, since they are using the same pads as I have on, will the new rotors function just the same? I know nothing about brakes, so I am a little worried.

Re: UUC Rotors & HPS Pads Installed

bed them in as per manufacturers instructions. it's actually supposed to be better to bed in old pads on new rotors or old rotors on new pads.

I dont even know if the shop did or didnt do that. I saw them spray some kind of lubricant on the rotors. Its only my front lwft side thats squeeks when slowing down.

I'll make a video when I get a chance.
