Does anyone know how wide i can go with the aftermarket wheels? I'm trying to put either 19s or 20s, but ill probably be running a 245/255 and i was wondering if i'd rub in the wheel wells when i turn, if anyone knows could ypu please help me!!
I'd be surprised if you could get anything wider than eight inch wheels without using spacers. Check the spacing at the top back side of the front wheels. No more than 1/2" clearance.

you can run a 18x8" rim (and probably a 8.5" rim) with about a 40mm offset and 245/40 tires in 19" or 245/35 tires in 20" and shouldn't have a problem. This is also assuming that you have the sport suspension. Without the sport suspension, we've had problems with the front rubbing with passengers in the rear (kinda pulls the front up and rubs on turns).
I am currently running 19" w/ 40mm offset, with 245/40 Michelin tires. Watch out for Falken or Nitto tires, they tend to run big.
i'm getting the 18x8 mc2 fz3 wheels for my cts without sports suspension. Will i have any issues with rubbing (i'm getting h&r springs 1.3" lowered in the front and 1.2" in the back)? As for tires, it will depend on what comes with the fz3 wheel package.

I saw at another forum where a guy is running 20" rims. I'm not sure of the tire profile. Low profile I imagine. He had to roll the inside lip of the wheel well so it wouldn't rub.

If you are going to lower it, make sure they are the 245/40 tires, not the 245/45s...

i don't have the sport suspension, so if I want to put 19s or 20 on the car and i would run 245 most likely, I HAVE to get some sport suspension, such as some H&Rs or whatnot? And you guys with your 19inch rims, probably 245s, do they stick out or do they look flush with the wheel wells? and im guessing you're running spacers?
One, you don't need to run spacers if you get the right wheels with the right offset. a 40mm offset is a good compromise especially with a 8" wide wheel. I have 19x8 with 40mm. They do not stick out, they are almost flush with the front wheel well (only slightly in) and the rear stick a little bit farther in. If you can avoid spacers, you should always avoid spacers...
And the answer is NOT to put lowering springs on the car if you don't have the sport suspension; that "in a way" defeats the purpose as you are lowering the body closer to the tire for rubbing. What I would do is make sure and get the right size tire so you don't rub. For 19" I'd go 245/35R19 to make sure no rubbing, and for 20" I'd go 245/30. Or you could just add the Sport Suspension shocks (since the springs are the same between both models) - see my other post about the part numbers.
Has anyone pondered running a wider tire in the rear? Perhaps 8" up front and 8.5-9" in the rear?
All the time.
After I am done with all my other plans (since I already have 19"), I'm planning to go to 19" EV-Rs, 8.5" in front, and 9.5" in back, with 245/40 and 275/35 respectively...
